How do we support the Military Community?

Watercolour background.jpg

We are dedicated to supporting and creating connections for military families in early parenthood and want to support all families irrespective of rank, service, location and circumstance. Our aim to do this is to create a peer support network exclusively for military families. As well as campaigning for greater awareness for maternal mental health experiences of military mothers amongst healthcare and military stakeholders.

In starting Dandelion Military Families, we have identified the need for support within the military community for families that have experienced pregnancy or baby loss and therefore have partnered with the National Charity Sands to create an exclusive support meeting for the armed forces community, which is available virtually and accessible for military families worldwide.

We have also created a series of parental peer support groups, book club and an online forum exclusively for military families with the aim to alleviate isolation. We know many military parents experience the feeling of loneliness and isolation and this a major risk factor in poor parental mental health. Therefore we have created a safe space to give families an opportunity to make connections with likeminded and similarly experienced parents. We welcome all members of the military community, whatever your service affiliation, family dynamic, your children’s age and wherever you live (on or off the patch, UK based or Overseas).

Our Services

Seeds of Strength

Our Seeds of Strength peer support network has helped to connect and support military families, but we want to do more. By fundraising, we want to train more peer supporters in perinatal mental health, enabling us to offer a wider range of peer support groups to cater to more of our community, so that no military family feels alone.
